Kewell named in Ausie squad

Liverpool have given midfielder Harry Kewell permission to play for his country in this summer's Asian Cup.
Kewell was today named in a 23 man squad for the tournament, which is to be held across four countries in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The Liverpool star made a successful return to action towards the end of last season after recovering from injury and the Reds have now given him the green light to represent Australia next month. Kewell's manager Bernie Mandic confirmed: "Everything has been agreed between Liverpool and Football Federation Australia for Harry to be there. The training regime that [Australia manager] Graham Arnold outlined to Liverpool has been approved." Australia's first game is against Oman in Bangkok on July 8.
