XABI ALONSO HAPPY WITH SPAIN DISPLAY

Xabi Alonso is looking forward to a summer away from football after helping Spain to their second Euro 2008 qualifying win in the space of four days last night.
Two David Villa goals secured a 2-0 victory over Liechtenstein in Vaduz as Spain successfully built on their triumph against Latvia at the weekend. Spain's victory saw them climb to second place in Group F with 15 points from seven games, the same total as leaders Sweden and two more than Northern Ireland. "The start was good, we created chances and we needed to be calm, but it has been a pity not to score more goals," said Alonso. "Before we met up the objective was the six points (against Latvia and Liechtenstein) and we have obtained them. We could have scored more goals. "Now I am going on holiday, returning to the house in San Sebastian. I am going to enjoy the beach, see friends of the family, and disconnect."
